Winter

I was walking down the road today, the sun was out, I was listening to old school songs on my MP3, and for a moment there I forgot it was winter.

To be honest, I'm one of those people who gets a bit depressed when the weather is dreary, but this winter I'm trying to make a concerted effort to not let that happen (even though a close friend recently told me that it was a physiological deficiency of Vitamin D that gets us down, which almost gave me an excuse to rationalize it!).

So, join with me in dwelling on the good things in winter: hot chocolates, cosying up under the blankets, getting to stay inside and read, the occasional beautiful cloudless days that are so crisp, not feeling way too hot, actually wanting to exercise because it warms me up, and always having something to look forward to - summer!

Just when I was about to give up...a double post even! Plus you commented on my blog!

I might have to do the Top 10 books thing - VERY hard - much harder than the CD's...

Some of my fave Winter things are crockpot casseroles that smell good all day, reading with a good coffee held in 2 hands, walking in the new snow of the morning and (finally) seeing the windscreen demister breaking through...

I know, it's a miracle!

I finally sorted out all my Google stuff, so re-vamped my blog. It was fun!

I would be keen to hear your Top Ten novels. Take your time, it is very difficult!

Top ten novels is so hard! I can think of about five, then there's just a whole lot of mediocre ones. And I worry that I'll forget some...

Winter can be really fun, some things I like are:
Warm kitty sleeping on your lap
Snuggling up and watching a movie or reading a good book
Getting together with friends and making yummy food like pizza or cocoa chilli
Going to outdoor hot pools in the pouring rain or snow (I like Hanmer Springs and Ocean Spa at Napier)

Your new blog design is cool, I like the pinkness and the photos down the side :)
